First Weekend of Winter

For those readers who follow our lives since moving Down-Under, many of you expressed surprise at our winter activities over the last 2 years - well life has changed again since moving 5 months ago, but the seasons still change and it's turned rather chilly the last few weeks.

Saturday we headed out for our first weekend of winter.  The ocean wind made for a particularly cold 22°C/72°F!   Brrrrr!

We decided it was time for Balin to get more actively involved in our hiking trips, so found a nice 2km boardwalk and trail hike through the coastal mangroves of Cape Hillsborough.

Balin found a big rock to take a break on and re-apply his insect repellent.

After that exhausting hike Balin was actually a little reluctant to head to the beach, until he discovered he could dig.

We took the back-pack carrier for the next hike to find some pretty-face Wallabies, and even a snake, but Balin decided he would tough it out some more and was soon hiking again.

Balin loves shadow chasing and digging ...

Look at that cute boy running around, he is so sweet :)
It doesn't look too bad for winter - this past winter I had 3 foot of snow and temps of -15!
